Walking quickly I
shoulders, shrug hard
trying to brush this off
slowing my steps yet still
I am purposeful
have things to do
places to be
light to spread
I need to be free of this
Dragging my feet in the gravel
Unencumbered in heart
but the darkness sits heavier
then slowly increases
seeping down into me
Halted, I drop to my knees
I turn my view to the sky
lift my eyes
call out
begin as plea
beg for burdens lifted
Slowly rise
Eventually, in light of Your face
remembering my inheritance
I take my cue
Howl
Begin to run
I am free

Great job! Excellent use of line breaks to add to the force of the words and the movement of the poem. Powerful imagery!
Thanks, Wes :)
